2008 Gold Product of the Year - Consulting Specifying Engineer Magazine

The Kidde AEGIS™ panel is a recipient of Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine’s Gold Product of the Year award. The monthly magazine, which boasts a readership of over 46,000 mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers, said that the competition evaluates products that demonstrate practical innovation. The AEGIS is profiled, along with other category winners, in the October 2008 issue of CSE. “Engineers are traditionally very conservative when specifying products for building systems. The Product of the Year competition highlights new or refined products that engineers have found valuable during the products’ first year in the market. This helps accelerate the improvement of building performance by making them more energy efficient, safe, healthy, environmentally friendly, and less costly over their lifecycle,” said Michael Ivanovich, Editor-in-Chief, CSE magazine.

2009 Top Products of the Year - Building Operating Management Magazine

Building Operating Management (BOM) magazine has honored the Kidde Aegis™ panel with the 2009 Top Product Award in the Fire Control Panel category. Building Operating Management magazine's Top Products Awards recognize product releases that generated the highest level of interest from building and facility executives. During the award competition period from Oct. 1, 2007, through Sept. 30, 2008, nearly 900 products were displayed on the FacilitiesNet Home Page. Top Products Awards are given to the products that finished in the top 10 percent of all those that were posted over the 12-month period. The AEGIS is featured in the January 2009 issue of Building Operating Management magazine, along with other category winners.

The Kidde AEGIS™ Conventional Control Panel

The Kidde AEGIS is the most advanced Conventional Single Hazard Agent Releasing Unit available to the Fire-Alarm/Suppression industry today. It brings together the high quality, system reliability, and flexibility required by modern commercial, industrial and high-tech applications in an aesthetically pleasing and physically robust design. With its dual agent release capability and programming flexibility, the AEGIS can adapt to a wide range of suppression applications and can control Kidde’s entire suppression systems portfolio. The AEGIS is FM Approved and UL listed and complies with NFPA 72, ANSI/UL 864,9th Edition, and CAN/ULC-S527-99.

Unlike competitive offerings, the AEGIS intelligently accommodates both Class-A and Class-B wiring styles without the need for additional hardware cost and programming. It also offers extensive troubleshooting features and diagnostic capabilities to allow for quick and efficient installation and commissioning. Similar to its predecessor, the Kidde AEGIS is offered with a standard, NEMA1 enclosure, or a door-mounted abort/pull station version for increased adaptability.

Consistent with previous generation Kidde control equipment, the AEGIS is backwards compatible with the full line of Kidde electronic conventional detectors, notification appliances and suppression accessories; therefore allowing older generation panels to be easily replaced while preserving existing installation investment. Furthermore, its unprecedented five (5) year warranty provides peace of mind and guarantees the functional reliability required to provide optimal protection.
